Chocolate is generally very calorie dense as it is high in fat and also high in sugar, so if you are trying to lose weight, its should perhaps not be eaten too regularly. If you are having chocolate (which I often do!), 85% cocoa or more is the best kind to have, as it has the least amount of sugar and is rich in nutrients. Cocoa contains a large amount of antioxidants which are especially beneficial for cardiovascular health. Cocoa is also very high in Iron.
If you crave chocolate, but don’t want the excess sugar, try having a teaspoon of 100% cocoa stirred into hot milk or rice milk.
